Files: normal shell. Machine surface: elevate on purpose.
Living as Administrator all day is how accidents become disasters. Work as yourself. Elevate for one task. Close the elevated window when you are done.
- Ask: am I editing my files, or the PC’s shared settings?
- Files → normal PowerShell.
- Machine surface → Run as administrator, log changes, re read after.
