Disk Management Basics
Look before you resize. Never format a volume you have not named out loud.
Disks hold volumes. Volumes hold your files. Disk Management shows the map. PowerShell can list the same facts without the scary Format button under your mouse.
Get-Volume | Select-Object DriveLetter, FileSystemLabel, SizeRemaining, Size
Get-PhysicalDisk | Select-Object FriendlyName, MediaType, HealthStatus, Size
