Home Network Basics
Know which box is the modem and which is the router (sometimes they are one unit).
Your home network is a small city: modem, router, Wi Fi radios, devices with addresses. You do not need a CCNA. You need names for the parts when something fails.
- Modem talks to your ISP
- Router shares that link and hands out local addresses
- Wi Fi is the radio layer on top
ipconfig
Get-NetIPAddress -AddressFamily IPv4
Test-Connection 1.1.1.1 -Count 2
