Find Files Without Walking the Disk
Index once. Query often. Return paths, not megabytes.
Recursive walks across huge trees are slow and expensive. Phyllux Tech image search builds an index, then queries paths only. Separate build from query.
$Root = 'D:\Pictures'
$Cache = Join-Path $env:TEMP 'picture-paths.txt'
Get-ChildItem -Path $Root -Recurse -File -Include *.jpg,*.png,*.webp |
Select-Object -ExpandProperty FullName |
Set-Content -Path $Cache -Encoding utf8
Select-String -Path $Cache -Pattern 'cover' | Select-Object -First 5 -ExpandProperty Line
Field House rule: search an index when the tree is large. Walk the tree when you are building the index.
