Opening sample

First pass from the workshop. Not the ending.

You sit at your desk, the room bathed in the soft glow of morning light filtering through the blinds. The air is heavy with the faint scent of coffee, a lingering aroma that seems to have seeped into the very fibers of the paper and ink. Your manuscript, a sprawling beast of a document, lies before you, its pages a chaotic sea of words, some scribbled, others crossed out, and many more hastily typed. It’s a daunting sight, a testament to months of labor and countless cups of coffee, now reduced to a formidable obstacle.
