Today — recovery super app
Free local first toolkit by David E. Sproule (v0.7.4): Hard Hour, Peer Chat, urge tools, Meeting Atlas, PhiKey. Download the APK or try the web build. Not a clinic product.
Feature showcase
Forty six cards with the words on them
Priority lane: baked in titles for the capabilities that matter. Read the card. That is the feature. Atmosphere only art stays off this page.

Honesty strip
Shipped, optional, and roadmap
This page labels claims the same way the product docs do. Engineering evidence for manuscript tooling lives on phyllux.io research status (row five). Product marketing also lives at novelmatestudio.com.
- Shipped Local Ollama path, web GUIs, CLI, story bible, drift checks, MD / EPUB / DOCX export
- Optional PhiKey export vault, pandoc PDF when installed
- Roadmap Hosted cloud, live Stripe tiers, voice input, fine tuning
What it does
- Plans chapter structure from a locked premise Shipped
- Drafts prose with voice and cast constraints Shipped
- Checks drift, heat, and continuity before export Shipped
- Exports markdown first, then retail formats when signed off Shipped
- Runs on your machine through Ollama. No cloud custody of the manuscript by default Shipped
What it is not
It is not an unsupervised book factory. David locks the brief, curates the draft, and signs the keeper. It does not guarantee bestsellers, replace editorial judgment, or ship covers as its core job. Sales pages stay about the story. Process detail lives here and on About.
Local first
Your machine. Your words.
Generation defaults to Ollama on the author machine. The project database stays local. There is no telemetry and no training on your words by default. Work is queue based and bounded by hardware. Hours, not magic seconds.
- Shipped Python app, FastAPI web surfaces, Typer CLI
- Shipped Model routing per stage (outline, prose, polish)
- Roadmap Hosted collaboration and cloud generation as a product
Pipeline
Premise to keeper file
One path. Six beats. Human locks at the hard gates.
-
1. Premise
Lock intent, genre, and constraints before generation spreads.
-
2. Outline
Chapter structure and scene plans from the locked brief.
-
3. Write
Scene prose with voice and cast held in place.
-
4. Polish
Continuity, heat, and humanizing passes before sign off.
-
5. Continuity
Story bible, ledger, and drift checks across long projects.
-
6. Export
Markdown first. EPUB and DOCX when the keeper is ready. PDF when pandoc is present.
Surfaces
Three ways into the same book
Studio, Classic, and Atelier web GUIs share one project database with the CLI. New users usually start in Studio or Atelier. Operators who want scripts stay in the Typer CLI.
- Shipped Web GUIs at localhost
- Shipped CLI: plan, write, polish, export, packs, models
- Shipped REST API for project and pipeline control
Continuity craft
Low drift on long books
A story bible, rolling summaries, an entity ledger, and drift checks hold cast, place, and tone across chapters. That is how Sproule Lit titles stay coherent while machine assistance drafts at speed.
- Shipped Style bible and author intent
- Shipped Entity ledger and drift probes
- Shipped HUMANIZING101 polish rails on compatible prose
Optional export vault
PhiKey in Novelmate
An optional export encryption path borrows the PhiKey name for local vault style packaging. It is not an independent audited cryptosystem and it is not the full Phyllux Vault product. See research status for the honesty ceiling.
- Optional Extra install for vault crypto helpers
- Documented Living lane noted on phyllux.io PhiKey page
Who it is for
Authors who keep the pen
Built for people who find the blank page hard for any reason, including fatigue or cognitive load, and still want the final book to sound like them. Sproule Lit uses it as the house production system. Readers buy the story. This page explains the workshop.
