First pass from the workshop. Not the ending.
The sun had barely risen, casting a faint, almost invisible glow over the city. Edmonton, usually bustling with life, was quiet under the weight of January. Snow crunched underfoot, and the air was so cold it bit at the cheeks, making the breath visible in wisps. The sky was a dull grey, like a wet blanket draped over the world. It was a day that felt like it would never end, a month that stretched out like an endless winter. Why does January feel longer here? Because the days are so long and so cold, they seem to drag on.
