The coming soon books got an edit pass
All thirty six titles rewritten to their briefs. Still not for sale. Openings should sound like tools and stories, not waiting rooms.
This morning the coming soon wall had first Novelmate passes. A lot of the nonfiction opened like a waiting room scene. That was not the brief.
I ran an edit pass on every title. Practical books now talk to you, with checklists and honest limits. Fiction got a line edit so the sentences breathe. About four hundred seventy six thousand words came back. Shorter than the raw dump, on purpose. Padding left.
